Situated in Sichuan, the Jiuzhaigou Valley and Scenic Area first opened to visitors in 1984 and people have been attracted to the region ever since to see some of China’s most beautifully scenic areas. Near the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, it has forests, meadows, rivers, valleys, mountains, multi-level waterfalls and colourful lakes. With some of the most beautiful and inspiring scenery on earth, some of the reserves scenic spots are considered holy by the local Tibetan and Qiang people. The valley consists of two main parks – Huang Long and Jiuzhaigou, together they form a UNESCO Heritage Site.

2016 – 17

Day 1 To Huang Long (D)
Take your flight to Huang Long. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Huang Long Scenic and Historic Interest Area. Famed for its waterfalls and hot springs. Here you can explore by foot and take a
cable car ride for an aerial view of the wonderful scenery. Onward journey to your hotel in Jiuzhaigou.

Day 2 Jiuzhaigou (B)
Today a full day tour of the valley – Jiuzhaigou. Its Chinese name means ‘Nine Village Valley’. The valley is 35km long and is filled with with diverse natural beauty. You can walk around the attractions or take the optional eco-friendly buses. Highlights include the Multi-coloured Lake and the
Nourilang Waterfalls.

Day 3 Jiuzhaigou and onward journey (B)
Visit a Tibetan family in their village and see how they make traditional cheese, bread and butter tea. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
