Day 1 Arrive Chengdu (D)
Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for a 2 night stay.

Day 2 Chengdu City tour (BLD)
After breakfast depart for the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Centre. Here naturalistic habitats have been created to provide the best possible environment for rearing and breeding pandas. Continue to explore the city of Chengdu by visiting the People’s Park, an interesting area popular for its tea houses where the locals like to congregate. Watch the locals as they practice Tai Chi and ballroom dancing and play Mahjong. Continue to Wide and Narrow Alley, two rows of traditional courtyard buildings that have been turned into restaurants, shops and places to stay.

Day 3 Chengdu to Mt. Emei (BLD)
Depart the hotel for Leshan city, an interesting drive of around 2 hours. See the magnificent Giant Buddha, a 233-foot tall stone statue, built during the Tang Dynasty. The Buddha is carved out of the cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi rivers, and is said to guard the boatmen on the treacherous waters below. Transfer to the foot of Mt. Emei. Visit Fuhu Monastery at the foot of the mountain, a well-preserved temple sunken into the forest.

Day 4 Mt.Emei to Chengdu (BLD)
After breakfast depart the hotel for your ascent of Mount Emei. It is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China, and is said to be the place where the first Buddhist Temple in China was built in the first century AD. The combination of bus and cable car services will take you to the summit from where you can admire the stunning panoramas as well as the Golden Temple. Descend to the foot of the mountain and transfer back to Chengdu.

Day 5 Fly to Jiuzhaigou (BLD)
Transfer to the airport and take a 30 minute short flight to Jiuzhaigou. Continue to Huanglong scenic area, famous for its virgin forests, sweeping valleys, colourful lakes and intriguing calcite pools cascading down the riverbed. After visiting Huanglong, transfer to your hotel near Jiuzhaigou National Park, a scenic drive of around 3 hours. The Jiuzhaigou Valley and Scenic Area first opened to visitors in 1984 and people have been attracted to the region ever since to see some of China’s most beautiful scenic places. With some of the most beautiful and inspiring scenery on earth, some of the reserves and scenic spots are considered holy by the local Tibetan and Qiang people.

Day 6 Jiuzhaigou (BLD)
Enjoy a full day visit at Jiuzhaigou National Park which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. Admire the stunning valley and sparkling bright blue lakes where kingfishers and mandarin ducks can often be seen. Several thousand plant species can be found here as well as many endangered varieties including orchids and rhododendrons. The Jiuzhaigou Valley is home to more than 220 bird species as well as over 300 species of wildlife including the endangered Giant Panda and Sichuan Golden Monkey. The valley is 35km long and is filled with diverse natural beauty. You can walk around the attractions or take the optional eco-friendly buses. Highlights include the Multi-Coloured Lake and the Nourilang Waterfalls.

Day 7 Fly back to Chengdu (B)
Depart for Jiuzhaigou airport and take a short flight to Chengdu. Afternoon free at leisure to relax or explore this fascinating city at your own pace.

Day 8 Depart Chengdu (B)
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
