The Wonders of South Korea tour takes in Seoul and its surrounding areas, along with the natural beauty of South Korea’s favourite National Parks. Other highlights include a visit to the folk village of Hahoe, where you will witness the famous mask dancing, and enjoy a scenic cruise across Chungju Lake.
Day 1 To Seoul
Arrive in Seoul. Be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2 Seoul (BL)
This morning the city tour will include Deoksu Palace and the Secret Garden. We will pass by The Blue House (Presidential Office) and visit Jogyesa Temple. We will then explore the bustling South Gate Open Market and the famous Insadong Shopping Street, a great place to pick up arts and craft souvenirs.
Day 3 Seoul (BL)
Constructed in 1978, North Korea’s 3rd Infiltration Tunnel is located within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). From the Dora Observation Platform, you can get a view of the North Korea Territory including the Propaganda Village, People’s School and Garseong City, the old capital city of the Goryeo Kingdom. Freedom Park is a memorial to the 5 million people separated from their families in the North.
Day 4 Seoul- Gyeongju (BL)
Visit the Korea Folk Village, just outside Seoul. Old traditional style houses and the lifestyle of the 18th-19th century are practiced by the village residents. The site was established to promote Korean culture, spirit and wisdom to visitors. Onwards to Gyeongju.
Day 5 Gyeongju to Busan (BL)
The richest collection of ancient history and arts in Korea. Gyeongju was once the splendid capital of the Shilla Kingdom (B.C. 57 – A.D. 935). Known as the ‘Museum Without Walls’, the two main treasures are Bulguka Temple and the Seokguram Grotto, they are both UNESCO Historic Sites. The city is filled with remains of temples, the royal tomb, monuments, palaces and fortresses.
Day 6 Busan (BL)
Busan is the second largest cit and the principal port of Korea. Located on the southern part of the peninsula. Busan has been an important trade centre for fishing and some other industries for a long time. The major attractions of Busan are the UN Memorial Cemetery, Busan Tower, Jagalchi Fish Market and Haeundae Beach.
Day 7 Busan to Daegu (BL)
Drive to Mount Gayasan National Park and visit Haeinsa Temple, which has over 80,000 wooden printing blocks of Buddist scriptures. It is also home to the precious ‘Tripikata Koreana’ cultural treasure.
Day8 Daegu to Chungju(BL)
After breakfast, we will visit Andong which has the best-preserved village with traditional style houses. The Hahoe Village is famous for its unique mask dancing performance.
Day 9 Chungju to Mount Seorak (BL)
Cruise along the lakeside scenery of Chungju lake. Visit the reconstructed beautiful village of Cheong pung.
Day 10 Mount Seorak to Seoul (BL)
After breakfast, tour Shinheungsa Temple and take the cable car to Gwonkeumseong Fortress. Mount Seorak, the northern stretch of Korea’s eastern coast is rugged and mountainous with breath-taking scenery makes it called ‘The Alps of Asia’
Day 11 Seoul- Onwards (B)
Bus transfer to the airport.
